I keep thinking we all dodged a bullet in how we have all been managing to keep going.
I have been looking for something for our company to do that you all would all be proud of, and I have found that.
Alan Chong started a restaurant just before lockdown, saying, “he wasn’t balance sheet strong”. He runs a small restaurant called Tian38 that serves a lot of free meals to international students stuck here with little money and many others. We need to be good hosts to these students as well as help others.
You can see him interviewed in the video that I have linked you to.
So, I called him and asked him if I could help. I offered that our company would pay his fruit and vegetable bills till the end of lockdown. He was pleased. He said there are much worse off than he is, but I said I thought that more could be done by helping keep him strong.
So, I called James, who comes out of lockdown himself on Friday, and he will contact Alan, and this all gets going as soon as James is out. He thinks Friday. James and I have made one of “our” special arrangements, so Rena won’t find it too hard to cover this.
Alan wants when we are out, to deliver their to our office his food sometimes. He also said it would be reasonable when this is all over; we keep the ATO off his back. The goodwill I see my team has for each other has inspired me to look for something
